WEB: Bromsgrove Conservative councillor disappointed with election results
Councillor Karen May said the outcome was disappointing for her.
Conservative councillor Karen May has expressed her disappointment with the results of the local elections in Bromsgrove.
The Tories lost control of the council to the Liberal Democrats, who won 22 seats to the Conservatives' 18. May, who was the cabinet member for communities, said she was "disappointed" with the result but accepted the decision of the voters.
"I would like to thank all those who voted for me and the Conservative Party," she said. "I am proud of the work we have done over the last four years and I wish the new council all the best in the future."
May's disappointment is understandable. The Conservatives have been in control of Bromsgrove Council for many years, and losing control will be a blow to the party. However, it is important to remember that the voters have spoken, and the Liberal Democrats must now be given the opportunity to show what they can do.
